Its times like these that i am glad i don't goto school.

Two schools in our area are closed because of the swine flu, how bad is it actually does anyone know? as in how spread is it?

I find it quite scary to think how many people have swine flu there are 11 reported cases in Sutherland HS.

Its really more paranoia than anything else.
We had a 25% absenteeism rate yesteraday! And I can assure you maybe only 5 people have swine flu at max, as we only have 1 confirmed case at the moment. The rest are just suffering from normal influenza.

What are the names of the school though?

Confirmed cases??

Or just regular flu?? This oke next to me at work is coughing like a frikken baboon's mating call:erm:

Got to chow some more vitamin C/herbal whatever just to be safe.

Regular flu is my bet.
Although today the one guy next to me in science was just about coughing his gall bladder out!

1 Confirmed case at your school? Holy carp!

Go check that Merc thread:D

what merc thread?

There are 11 confirmed at sutherland High School

The problem with swine flu is it has the exact same symptoms than regular flu. People should be a bit more paranoid when it comes to it. I'd rather have regular flu and stay away from other people/see a doc/recover than take a chance.

I thought the town of sutherland :D I know PTA boys are suffering at the moment as well as Paul Roos! We may have to call off an interschool with them because of it! And KES was closed today I think because of it

I saw that thread, quite funny :D I sat next to the guy (a friend actually) who was the one confirmed case of swine flu when he got back to school on monday. Apparently they take a swab from the top of your nostrils and half way down your throat for lab testing! Not cool he says
