Looks nice - the album art feature is definitely some nice eye candy.

ok itunes 7 = complete and utter pos.

messes up all my songs, they play faster and slower randomly doesnt play without jerks. :( really annoying as I really like iTunes.

Winamp and WMP works 100%

have to agree with steamroller - its allover the place - I'm sticking with Winamp & WMP - works better IMO.

Winamp for music and WMP for movies.

Cool thing about Winamp that will never make me change it as my music player is the use of global hotkeys, the ability to control almost every function using keyboard shortcuts no matter which application you're busy working in. Very handy and much better and faster than any skin modes that other products offer.

Yip check in the winamp preferences, need to enable it there. For example ctrl+alt+insert=play, ctrl+alt+home=pause etc. Suppose you could use your keyboard's play/pause buttons but it comes in handy for those who don't have those buttons.

You can also control things like volume (ctrl+alt+up/down arrow) or the skip forwards/backwards by 5 seconds (ctrl+alt+left/right arrows), previous track, next track etc. Very handy tool.

I have all those functions on my logitech keyboard.. no need to remember hotkeys and set them up etc.

Ive used hot keys before but I recommend you get one of these multifunction keyboards

I like it. I actually changed from WMP to iTunes. Changed my multimedia keyboard to now operate itunes. I don't know if it was on 6 but the radio stations are quite cool, and obviously the vast amounts of podcasts.

That says a lot coming from a hardcore microsoft fan ;)

I used Itunes 6 for a while, but prefered WMP mostly due to the nice new way of setting up the library in WMP 11.

WMP 11 also just looks so much better than anything else, but there are some things I dont like. If Itunes 7 looked much better than 6, which it doesnt really, I might have changed...

Maybe I missed something, but I think that iTunes 7 looks much bettter than previous versions. Coverflow is fantastic, and so is the new grouping view. Its just so much easier to keep track of stuff, and album art is given pride of place. All that's needed now is to expand this into a full screen browsing mode with floating transparent controls ala the full screen editing mode in iphoto.

I guess it does look better, but I mean it still doesnt look nearly as good as WMP 11, and the way WMP11 sorts things, grouping all the year, album name and genre together saves alot of space.

maby I will give Itunes 7 a try again.. I didnt spend much time with it, I just thought, well WMP11 is probably still better.

Ofcourse, if I can get a new plugin for Itunes 7 to use Foobar to play the media through it, then I would change, too bad that gave me alot of problems in Itunes 6.

Coverflow is amazing - typical attn to detail from Apple. It's almost finished downloading my missing album covers too.

I dont know what the windows version is like though.

EDIT - Before anyone points it out I did know that coverflow was bought out by apple. ;)

Sounds very much like you've never used itunes at all;)
The browser view is still very much an integral part of the interface in the list view and album view and in the store, same as its always been.

Sure, go ahead if you prefer your software phoning home all the time:D

While you're at it, you should use Notepad to get that finnicky font format problem in Word sorted out:D

iTunes is far more organized and handles album art far better than WMP IMHO

but I have to say I dont really like the new 7 design much (the scrollbars mainly)... I think many OSX users wll agree the aqua look was better

being a windows hater "Ekhaatvensters" I'm surprised your praising WMP

Oh sorry guys I just installed it and played a song and noticed that it couldnt play any of my music.. it just made everything crackle?

Im not shure what was goign on there but it actually couldnt play anything. So I just uninstalled it, I see now if I had clicked album art view then it looks alot more like WMP11, actually theyve pretyt much stolen the concept..
Unless they thought of it first, who knows.
Except its still not as good as WMP, it insits that you keep the artist name in a list for every song when the artist name is sitting right under the album art which obviously covers a whole CD.

I also looked at the cover flow feature which looks amazing really, but is useless for me. There is no way I can flow through all my albums like that, I have 30 gigs of music with the album art for every CD.

And if you use that as your library, then you have to go back to the old way of listing every single artist and album name etc..

okay now all the little things. my WMP doesnt ever phone home because it cant access the internet from my PC, a firewall. but if you turn off all of the internet options, then it doesnt really phone home much.. at all. Unless it needs codecs (if you want them, and Itunes does that too right?) or licenses, which you do need.
Nothing much else that Ive noticed phones home. What exactly are you refering too, I know there are some thigns, but what are they?

And have you ever used Foobar, it does actualy sound a bit niocer than most players, plus it has ASIO or kernal streaming features, which are even more usefull if you realyl listen to music from good speakers.
