Hi guys, I tried setting up a Apple ID today, it was my first time so when I tried to login into itunes I was requested to enter credit card details and I used my cheque card but I got an sms from my bank saying that the transaction was declined cos of insufficient funds (its not month end yet, lol) so my question, is apple gonna debit my account? Is so how much? :/ thanks.

I wasn't buying anything. I was just trying to set up my Apple ID. I logged in on iTunes and I had to enter my 'payment method' before I could access itunes.
it think that's what you have to do if you're logging in with a new Apple ID.

So any idea what the 'insufficient fund' thing is about? Wouldn't that happen if they were trying to debit my bank account?

I know that when I set up my PayPal account, they debited $1 to confirm the payment method.

Maybe Apple does the same test $1 debit.

"As with many other merchants, the iTunes Store and Mac App Store places an authorization hold on your payment card account for the approximate amount of any purchase you make. If you update your billing information, the iTunes Store or Mac App Store will place an authorization hold on your payment card account, usually in the amount of 1 USD or the local currency equivalent, to verify your account information."
