I've been trying to update itunes but the download is always corrupted even if I use the OSX updater, I read recently the the akamai servers were corrupted could this be causing issues?

Haven't had this problem - ever. What's your connection stability like? I've paused software update after downloads start and resumed after changing dsl accounts with no problems.

I downloaded itunes with Opera, the Chrome download manager is nor reliable it seems, line stability is decent, going to see if a future update fails because of recently installed little snitch.

I have a 1st Gen iPod touch 8gb and I want to update to the latest software. Is there anyway I can still download the 2.x OS? I am currently running 1.5

Your computer is trying to protect you against crap software.

I HATE iTunes with a passion.

Not sure houw touch updates work, think you need an itunes store account and then get it through that.

It's OSX, I LOVE itunes.. on OSX. btw this was a non-issue, chrome was beta and I had to reset my mac since I never bothered doing that in a while.

Ok, fair enough.

Now if you can tell me how I can import a folder which contains "a best of compilation" into my iTunes library, without iTunes creating 130 different album folders for it, I would be grateful. Just want to click on folder and do "play album".

Once you import the songs just select them and tick "part of compilation".
Also an option to force itunes not to organize folders but I never bothered with that.
