I've searched the web high and low for a solution to this issue. Running Windows7 Ultimate. After installing iTunes I get an error message : A duplicate filename was specified". I can still use iTunes but cannot sync my iPod or iPad as a result. Even with the library empty, it persists. Uninstalled and re-installed several times. Deleted all references in registry. Same message. Under Windows 10 it works fine if I dual-boot into Windows 10 (which I hate)
Anyone able to help?

Perhaps a file under AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes or AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes or C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\iTunes

You can try Process Explorer and Process Monitor, both free sysinternals tools to look at what files it is trying to access.
