They didn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt.
The difference, my friends, is that YOU AND I are footing the bill for this. R14 million and counting ...![]()
Justice at any price is worth more than no justice.
Justice gets bought and sold on a daily basis by the wealthy.
They should just offer Selebi a quiet room and a tanto
Not going to happen. According to SA standard I think a promotion is in order...
No - although if it was Cele in the dock or Mbeki as president then yes, quite probably. But Selebi isn't Zuma's man so he won't be getting any help.
Selebi is out of friends and out of luck.
Can you say appeal?

Selebi found guilty, just heard now on the radio.....he is a damn embarssment to our country.
So how does someone without policing experience get to become the president of Interpol?Selebi was a political appointee and had no previous policing experience when he became the first black SAPS chief in 2000.
He resigned as president of Interpol in 2008 after public prosecutors confirmed charges against him and was suspended by the SAPS.
assuming that you are somebody important?
cos if somebody offers to take me shopping at Sandton City for new suits... I am so there baby!![]()
DUDE, you are so going down....
FOR EVEN THINKING IT!
What constitutes corruption under the 2004 law was discussed on the radio, I can't remember the details but I think what it boiled down to is that, for government officials, the mere fact of accepting money or a gift constitutes corruption. It doesn't matter whether the giver asks for something or not, nor does it matter what the intention of the recipient is, i.e. to use his influence to sway things or not. Furthermore, the channels through which this money is received also does not matter, e.g. 3rd parties, etc.Actually this trial was a farce... the judge basically said "we don't actually know what he did wrong... but he took all that money so he must have been really, really naughty!"
So he will also get 15 years of which he will spend 2 in a hospital and then get out on medical parol?
