Jaguar F Type

I love this car. 5 litre engines make me cringe, but then I suppose that if you can afford a car like this, you can afford the petrol? I don't particularly want to be paying someone's salary into putting petrol in my car, I can think of way better things to do with the extra cash. Give me a car that hits 200km/h and I'll be happy.

If I had the money, I'd go with the V6 3L version.

I do not always agree with Haldex but he has a point.

Taking the 5-litre it is actually a muscle car as suggested in the above article. I have previously watched a video where the 3-litre went up against a 911 Cabrio 3.4 litres and really the Porsche which is underpowered destroyed the F-type on the track. Yes, the F-type is made to compete with the Audi R8 and Porsche 911, but is not in the same class, does cost less though. On the road it may be a better comparison than on the track, but still the 5-litre is a big engine, more a smaller American muscle car than anything else. You can even skip buying a 911 and get a GT-R, not to mention a ZR1 which will destroy the F-type.

In my opinion the heavier 5-litre engine should compete in its own category.

I never said it was better, or exactly the same as a Carrera Cabriolet... Just that when looking at size, price and performance, they are a lot more closely matched than the cars Haldex wants to compare it to.

When saying this you are correct, but I would like to see reviews on daily driving.

Visiting Canada or USA, you must hear people comparing M3’s to GT500’s and ZL1’s. Picking a M3 there will put you in the wrong… I suggest that they are wrong. Seeing the marketing, they surely want to get beneath the German’s skin.

Also in all honest, depending on available budget… I will most likely buy an F-type above a 911. In reality I will buy neither in SA.

Holy. Balls. Didn't like the convertible that much but that thing... Yeah, I'll be in my bunk.

It really is perfectly proportioned... I've seen a few convertibles on the road in Cape Town. Black one in Sunset Beach are a couple of days ago had me drooling all over my steering wheel.

Coupe looks good in white too!

It feels as if it has a bit of Aston, Porsche and even a hint of Ferrari in it. Very nice indeed.

This is one of the hottest roadsters ever!! I really love the look and sound of it!! Brilliant job Jaguar.

Damn you!

I had forgotten about this thread. This car is just ridiculously gorgeous.
