You joined today on an internet forum to ask today about buying a car in your first post...
Have you tried gumtree, autotrader, online classifieds?:confused:

Keep looking... the S-types do pop up now and then.
Usually once someone has been bankrupted by one and they need to sell it urgently even if only to save them that months repayment.

May I ask why you want one so badly?

I cant be the styling... nor the performance... it must be the status ...do you perhaps wear a monocle and carry a pocket watch?

:D Yeah, the S-Type wasn't exactly one of Jaguar's best offerings in terms of styling or performance. It's not butt-ugly but it's not good-looking either. Performance-wise, it's average or even slightly under even.

Thanks guys, Jaguar S Type is a modern Series symbol of true Class. Hahaahaha. I am not really concerned about the speed because I will be driving at 120km/h anyway.
I just love the stature of that car…at least Fazda feels my point…

VERY impressive!

Especially your Grandads XK140 - that is just stunning stunning stunning!

Still not ga-ga over the S-type though. It's not yet a classic and it's not up to par in terms of modernity... just seems completely irrelevant on all levels... kind of like the Chrysler PT Cuiser although obviously in a different class.

We still have the SType as a daily run around. She's only done 60 000 miles, but everything was totally rebuilt after the barn rescue in 2005...my dad bought her new in July 67.

the XK140 is owned by someone who enjoys driving her the way she was meant to, so she's also living a happy life! :D

 A 2001 S-Type 3.0 V6 is 179kW. I'd say that's not below average.

isnt the s type everything that is wrong with jaguar ?

Not really. It's really in a run-out phase at the moment, but they were solid, respectable cars with styling different from the contemporary Jags. The XJ series and the X-Type, by contrast, were dated in styling the day they were released.

The XF is what's right with Jaguar. The Tata buyout was a good thing.

Yep. When it came out, it was the most powerful engine in its class.
