Yep. When it came out, it was the most powerful engine in its class.
Pretty powerful even today. The new BMW 330i is only about 15 to 20kW more.

The XF is what's right with Jaguar. The Tata buyout was a good thing.
Quite frankly I would rather PAY for a Jaguar, than be GIVEN a BMW!!![]()

How so?
I grew up with Jaguars around me all my life (there is a link a few posts back). BMW's tend to be owned (OK, this is a total generalisation) by total and utter ****ers who have no respect for other road users at all. I wouldn't be caught dead in one!!![]()
A 2001 S-Type 3.0 V6 is 179kW. I'd say that's not below average.
Ag, maybe it was a class-leader in it's time but it's 2009 now and there are smaller-engined cars who puts out more.
Yeah, but not naturally aspirated.
True yes, if you want to get technical.
This is hardly technicalOn another note, I love how turbo diesels perform there days! Thinking of a C270 CDI or C320 CDI

Don't get me started on turbo diesels; I love them; hell, would even like to own one someday. They're really in a class of their own.![]()

What do you guys think of this deal on autotrader:

Seems like a lot of car for R139k to me.
Though, I must comment, I've known some pretty arrogant, stand-offish Jag drivers....
