Jalebi/Jalebis/Jilapi/Jilawii Recipe

I can cook and bake both of them under the table with one hand tied behind my back. The only one doing any thumping is me :p

I'd love to try some of your sweetmeat sometime.

as promised a burfee recipe

500g klim
500g icing sugar
125ml melted ghee
1 tin nestle cream (small tin)
half teaspoon elachie powder
fresh milk as required

method

put dry ingredients in to a bowl and mix melted ghee in to dry ingredients then add nestle cream to resemble fine bread crumbs. add milk a little at a time to bind dry ingredients in to a firm dough. then set in to a flat casserole, sprinkle with almonds, cling and set in fridge overnight.

do not let dough get sticky, wont give you a good texture.

Taste the proper stuff. Burfee has nothing on it.

chana magaj better than burfee?? challenge accepted! lol u can post me some of that proper stuff!!

whats worse than chana magaj though is that white powdery stuff they ensure they put into any type of prasad (when having prayers at home and such)

its apparently just cake flour and sugar, but the flour is first cooked then sugar added, feck i dunno how they make it.

Panjiri. My sis loves that stuff. Why I have nfi. I normally ensure as little of it gets made as possible.

It's basically toasted flour and ghee with sugar. Can add almonds etc. Oh and powdered black pepper.

Damn you Shaun! Now I want panjiri. I can almost taste it :( with raisins yum...
Thanks for the recipe Ocali.
