Good day there John

Well my replacement is still working but a rather big bit of concern it is getting louder, it was quiet for the first few days but has now become rather noisy, the fans are driving me up the walls, also remember that you said telephonically if I ain't happy you would assist me in getting it swapped out again to a later model less noisy. This console is way louder than my previous, and that is when i stream video's. When I play games and the dvd spins up it gets even worse. So please could you please assist and help facilitate the swap out of this console again, many thanks and I appreciate that you said that you would award me this service. I will use this noisy one until you can acquire a much more quieter machine, please also let me know when it will be available? What sort of time frame are we looking at? A few weeks or so, wouldn't want to wait to months again you know.

Many thanks in advance and awaiting your reply regarding this matter

Hi *****

After what happened previously we are implementing a policy to replace with similar model to what you originally purchased . Im not too sure what you had originally but the ladies at powercare will make sure you get the same model .

Thanks

John

Hi *****

This is a similar model ,in fact it’s a brand new unit of the same sku as the one you originally purchased .

The chassis and components are identical to what you originally purchased the only difference is that you now have a new unit which happens to have been manufactured 4 months earlier .

Its really not possible to match up the date of manufacture but like I said it is identical to what you purchased .

Regards

John

Hi *****

That shouldn’t be the case based on the date of manufacture , are you making this assumption based on the power supply only ?

Thanks

John

Hmmm

I don't have much to say in good plain English as 'ek sal net die dom koppe uit vloek'

But let me think a bit ...

Dear John 'Fart Face'

I Mr. Pixel, originally bough a Falcon revision Xbox 360. It has a 175W power supply and runs on 14.2A (amperes). It experienced RROD (Red Ring Of Death) or otherwise known as a general hardware failure.

I received a Zephyr revision console as a replacement. It has a 203W power supply and runs on 16.5A (amperes).

With all due respect, this is not the same console. It runs hotter and louder than my previous model. I fear that it will fail in the not too distant future and I won't be able to enjoy the benefits of the limited warranty.

I'm well versed in using the Google search engine, and trying to be misled with malarkey from your well meaning distributor is not acceptable.

I expect this matter to be resolved amicably, or taking other avenues with those higher than you will be the next logical step.

Yours truly

Disgruntled Xbox 360 owner

I'm not a Xbox guru per say. I see myself as proficient in the technical aspects of the Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii consoles.

I learn something new everyday :D

Dear John

You're a f**king idiot!

...

wait that's a little harsh.

Dear John

Look, I'm not trying to be rude but you folks are really messing with me here. Do you honestly expect the client to be happy with a swopout of an older machine revision? The Amp rating (16.5A) and PSU connector both indicate this unit is indeed a 100% confirmed Zephyr.

I've payed for a Falcon so why on earth do I get a 1st generation replacement?

^^^^
Insert demands above..... Falcon/Jasper within 14 days, refund/voucher, or whatever sounds the best.

Pixel, is there anyway of proving that you had a falcon machine? They will keep throwing back at you the argument that the one you received is the one you owned. Maybe each xbox owner should take note that before they hand over their console to have some sort of proof to make sure they get the same model back. I would hate to give in a Jasper and then get back a Zephyr.

i got the invoice as well as a photo of my old console, call me hectic but i always do that, i got the details such as mfr date, serial, amps volts etc..

The mfr date should be evidence enough to conclude that it was a Falcon right? I assume that when they picked your console up the first time that the details were recorded on a docket quoting serial no, etc which you must sign. If this is in place then you should be able to demand the same console back. Also maybe consider some sort of legal action in terms of small claims court which I think the fees are not much...not sure but normal legal route is too pricy. I assume this has been going on for more than 4 months already.

I think the problem is that the Refurb have a "new" manufacture date as the sleasy M$ rebuilt old RROD boxes with new Mobo and sold them again as new, or something like that.
