jasper, falcon, opus or zephyr

So glad I got a Jasper, I cant believe they have had these problems for so long and only have finally fixed it with the Jasper. :eek:

This is the point I don't get:mad::
If MS wants to reduce the RROD rate then why are they giving these Zephyrs out when Falcons and Jaspers are the way to go? I would want a new improved model that's already on the market for almost 9 months and not the same console model that will give me the same RROD again:eek:

Easy, cost of refurb is less.
Being given a replacement for a RROD console you only get a short warranty.
It fails, warranty is over, no mess/fuss from microsoft, you are stuck with the broken console.

Eventually all the older consoles will end up in the bin at the consumers houses.

is it possible that a falcon can be labelled with 16.5A instead of the ussual 14.x ?
also does a 203W powerbrick work on a falcon?
do u get a mfr date for zephyr late 2008?

thanks for the replies in advance?

@Pixel- That's what I was thinking. My Falcon uses a 203w powerbrick from my Zephyr Elite that gave me the RROD last year November.

I doubt a Zephyr would have a late 2008 mfr date.

i must admit i am confused, reckon have to wait for the console, also read somewhere that the consoles amps and watts aren't a 100% gaurantee, apparently some peopl in usa received jaspers, although console case told otherwise, they opened it up and saw the mobo was jasper even thought the amps showed 16.5 on case mmm, dunno if they just talking or serious, they had foto's, although u can get those anywhere, apparently machines late 2008 aren't as clear cut... mmm ... wonder,

The only real way to determine is to open up and view the motherboard! When the replacement units come from the factory no one can say what is inside to a finite degree, untill inspected.
