Jaunty 9.04 final released! local links

buya!..........anyone tried it? does it live up to the anticipation?

Heck YES it does! :D

...Boot's up quickly, community themes are already installed so that's a nice plus for those not content with the default human theme.

I'm happy.. damn and it's free :)

Unfortunately Gnome isn't as cool as the original screenshots made it look. So I'm still with KDE4....
apt-get remove ubuntu-desktop.....

I'm sticking with gnome because KDE does not have or allows the gnome network applet. :(

I am a newbie... do I download the "Desktop CD" image? And is this the FINAL OFFICIAL ONE AND ONLY RIGHT one?

EDIT: Oh yes I want to install it on my laptop, thats why I am asking. It's not a netbook, mind you.

That would be the correct one.

Yes, it's the final official one unless they do a point release in the future.

Pick between the 32 & 64 bit versions depending on your hardware.

The alternate install cd is also an option but does not provide you with a live desktop environment from the cd, the installer is text based. So just stick with the Desktop CD image.

Thanks alot!

I guess this is why Linux is owning Windows. Everyone wants to help everyone and make Linux better. I have not received any bad advice or remarks despite my newbieness to Linux. I thank everyone and I know you all will be there to make Linux as good as it can be for me.
