Systems Developer / Java Developer. Braamfontein. Strictly EE. R700k.
Development and maintenance of the Sales and Reward System (SRS).
Key responsibilities
To develop and implement SRS solutions in line with business requirements
(including enhancements to existing processes and procedures, development of
new functionality, etc) within broader company BI vision.
To maintain and do problem resolution within existing processes.
To liaise with Users, Business Analysts and support staff.
To provide written and verbal feedback to users, team members and
management.
Qualifications
A minimum of matric with mathematics, but a tertiary qualification in Computer Science
or Information Systems will be an advantage.
Experience
At least 5 years JAVA development with at least 3 – 5 years experience in the following:
Wicket or Swing or JSF (In order of preference)
Strong object orientated skills
JSP and Servlets and HTML
J2EE both EJB 2.0 and 3.0
Good SQL knowledge (DB2)
Any Eclipse based Development tool (particularly RAD 7 or higher)
Sun Java Programmer Certification
Not essential, nice to have:
Struts or any other MVC framework
JPA
JMS Webservices (JAX-RPC/JAX-WS)
Websphere Server
CSS
Experience in the following would be a distinct advantage but is not essential:
Experience in the insurance industry
IAA (Insurance Application Architecture)
Knowledge
Planning methods and techniques
Testing methodologies
Data access techniques
Debugging tools
Broad IT knowledge and discipline specific knowledge
Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycles processes
Data warehousing
Should be able to work under broad direction and take technical responsibility for work
performed and decisions taken. May supervise work of others and must show leadership
potential. Must conform with standards and procedures as defined from time to time.
