Jimmy's Sauce

I wouldn't say horrible, just meh.

I wouldn't ruin a(nother) steak with it though, that's for certain.

The fact that I ruined a perfect burger patty with it imho makes it horrible, won't happen again.

I am not a big marinade fan, next time you open a bottle of Jimmy's take a deep sniff of the bottle, can you also smell that stale plastic smell? Reckon marinades should come in glass bottles, anyhow for what it's worth, if you are really into your food scene, you should be making your own marinade....

I prefer wellingtons steak sauce.

Snip corner of packet containing pork loin ribs. Add spices, garlic and fresh hard herbs and wellingtons. Reseal and Refrigerate over night. empty contents into roasting dish, tightly cover with foil and place in 160 degree oven for 3 hours.

Oh, and pan fried/griddle steak finished in oven owns braaied steak

Jimmy's sauce is a gift from the gods to mankind and if anyone doesn't agree, then, well...

Ricardo's Chimi Churri Barbeque sauce.

Jimmy's is becoming expensive, you get more and more other brands that's cheaper and not far off the taste mark.

Show some class guys - make your own sauce.

As a back up the Castle sauces aren't too bad.

So sick of going to braais and everything tastes of sour fwscking Jimmy's. Honestly the people fellating the stuff in this thread: grow a palate.

It's extremely easy to upskill and make a homemade sauce / baste / marinade. None of the "store-boughts" can compete once you've got the ratios right. Also noticed how many people marinate rather than baste. Different meats require different techniques, I just see it done wrong way too often.

I would also take a swipe at those orange "braai salts"... yuk.

He was on the radio the other day. He is making it from his house. During the lockdown last year, he was part time car guard. Very nice story , there is a video somewhere.

This sauce gave me a solid headache the first and only time I tried it.

I was also wondering what the person that brought it to the braai was raving about. It must be redneck approved because it's a disgusting chemical soup, you'd need to have a Labrador palate to appreciate it.
