Jk8 vs Dolby

Awesome car Dolby. I'm getting a C30 T5 R-Design later this week. So my opinion is not biased at all!

AFAIK, the floor matts in the R Design are slightly different to the standard - it looks as though you have rubber at?

The previous owner of mine removed the R Design seats in favour of the standard leather. I'm not quite sure which I prefer yet :/

I'm hoping those are temporary covers to protect the mats! I'll go check.

Anyhow - have you been in a Volvo? It was never made or marketed as a hot hatch : the ST the hot hatch.

Its by far more comfortable, classy and an easier drive than both mentioned cars - with the added extra of similar times.

I think the BWA can do better, thats just me I guess.
Yes its 160kw+ you never believed it coz VW never claimed it. Its still just a rumour, So it changes to suit your argument.

Theres alot of PGtis doing crazy speeds, but they modded, ever so slightly but they are. It not the MK4 110kw or the 132kw engine its half and half.

Nope never been in the Volvo, they rare, and they probably wont want to race if I pull up next to one. It was never marketed as a hot hatch? Are you sure? What was it then? A vamp mobile? They gave it 3kw more than the hot hatch ST... probably to make it slower.

Comfortable, classier and easier to drive than a St yes, most Hot hatches are. The ST is for.... you know the type.

I still say ill keep up with a C30 T5 yes.
 
You have less than no chance of keeping up with a C30 T5 in your Polo JK8.

Not unless your Polo is HEAVILY modified.

I say a chipped PGTi with a 76mm downpipe will tear the C30 apart. But thats just me. 2 little mods is all it takes.
 
nothing aggressive then not a chance....

Plan and simple. You're dreaming if you think a basic chip and a PD160 downpipe will tear a C30 apart, let alone keep up with it.

You didn't study marketing, did you?

Well, when they design a product, the aim it at a certain segment and tailor the advertising for that segment. For example, ST and GTI are marketed to boy racers (ie http://www.mattwaddell.com/2008/04/22/ford-focus-st-advert/) Bright colours, boost guage, chrome everything etc is appealing to a type of person.

Volvo aren't trying to steal the ST/GTI/MPS/OPC customers - they haven't marketed their car as 'hot' and '169KW' etc It has no boost guage, or synthetic pipe to change the sound to more aggresive. They're going for a slightly more sophisticated market but - that said - the car runs with STs and GTIs.

Extra power doesn't always means speed. It's like more watts in a sound system doesn't mean louder. More KW or torque or differing gear ratio's make the car better to drive too :/

uh huh ... you live in your own world where 74KWs run with 141KW ... 110KW run with 169KW and 210KW run with 340KW. You better every motoring journalist out there on performance, and consistantly better the manufacturers claims by 10-15% ... purely cause of your launches. You are the man!



PS Cars In Action got a 7.6 to 100km/h and 15.5 sec @ 149km/h 1/4 mile for the Focus ST. Very similar to my times which - believe it or not - puts you running with Focus STs and Golf GTIs.

Do figures and stats mean anything to you?

Would you compare your P4 2.5GHZ computer to your neighbours Quad Core?
Or unleash your Jack Russel into the neighbours yard with his Pitbull?
How about compare your Sony HT to your neighbours dedicated Krell HT?
How about your car with 50% less power to your buddies?

Does logic ever prevail and do you ever click and say 'every single person is disagreeing ... perhaps they're right?'
