Last summer the community around the Walkerville area were helping to send water and feed into areas of the Free State to try help where they could. If I recall correctly one of the farmers committed suicide because he could stand seeing everything dying around him.
 
You don't need to be a genius and rely on tattle tales to see who is using too much water - just go fine everybody with a green lawn! Duh.

You don't seem to understand why there is something called rules and laws. It's not created for the fun of it. It's there for a reason in this case because our dams is drying up very quickly. Basically if the dams do not fill in the this rain season then you and all of those other people who don't understand why laws and rules exist won't have water to drink.

The pipes should also be fixed ASAP but at least the DA has started fixing the holes created in the budget and now that money will go into fixing those pipes.

Really? Are you sure Sinbad - in Randburg? We have a few neighbours using sprinklers all through the day.

If you're right they don't know about it.

Or don't care, "cause I pay for it". If they want to ignore the media (all the news sources), they must enjoy their fines...

It's not inconceivable that there are people who are unaware of the restrictions.

You do get those people who don't follow in the news in anyway.

No sprinklers at all ever, unless you're on borehole or using grey water - in which case you need a clear sign on your property indicating this.

I find these water restrictions totally illogical, unfair and irrational.

I can water my garden/lawn with unlimited litres of water with a hosepipe between 6pm and 6am, but no irrigation systems.

How about you aren't allowed to water your lawn anymore ever. Will save the most water. Plants allowed. Grass can die - who cares. I would rather we all have water to drink and bath in.

BUT

I can't wash my car with a hosepipe ever (MAX 100 litres of water or around R1 worth) - but I can go to a car wash and use their services for R60+.
 
Driving past many corporate parks (Byls Bridge was one) you see irrigation of the grass and communal gardens happily continuing. I recall seeing the same last year November at Telkom as well.

But yeah lets rather nail the man in the street since it is a much softer target.

Agreed - business and corporate irrigation systems are still on the automatic timer settings they have always used. Watering during the day.

Is there an email address you can use to report these big centres to? Cresta was abig culprit last summer - I took them to task on their Facebook page and they made the excuse that it was an automatic system but would look into it. Went past the following day and the sprinklers were still on, water running off down the road.
