Getting intermittent 16KB/s bursts on intl http traffic - very irratic, network seems unstable. All other traffic still non-existent.
 
hey i still want connection to concourse crescent lonehill.. thats all

in bandwith we trust all others read newspapers

After excellent speeds for months and months, my 256k connection is now so **** I can barely post here... :mad:

22/66 is fairly stable, although packet Loss hit the roof over the last 2 days.

??? I pick up 66 from near Cresta/opposite Windsor east - surely 66 cannot be 4ways, but must be Northcliff???
 
Anyone know if there's decent reception in the Paulshof area. The Sentech zone locator says there's no signal, but it said the same thing about my current location where I get a terrific signal (4 bars on the modem)? I know there are 2 towers in the Fourways area. Does their range extend to Paulshof (between Main Rd & the Cambridge shopping center)?

I had good signal at the PWC office close to Paulshof ....but i think Paulshof is a bit lower than Sunninghill ...

Been noticing all the Linux ISO's I am downloading via Emule is also VERY slow lately...
 
Im in the Lonehill area is there a good signal there for a connection?
And are any of you useing a connection tha is uncapped? And know where i can get?

I just checked the NoWire site (http://www.nowire.co.za/covarage_zones.html) and they claim to have customers in Lonehill. It might be worth your while contacting them to organise a signal test or maybe you can loan a modem directly from Sentech (I hear they allow a 7 day test). I am unaware of any uncapped wireless offerings, but I'm no expert.

Thanx I got my modem but im have sum problems i have 4 bar signal. but cant connect. keeps saying that cannot connect to remote computer. then disconnects me. i dunno how to fix this
 
Northcliff/Johannesburg down?

Anybody know if Northcliff/Johannesburg is completely down? My modem just polls, and gets no signal whatsoever.
 
The sole signal light that my modem had this morning was flashing like a crazy person. I wouldn't be surprised if I've been disconnected.

Tower = Mintek.
