jQuery, write less do more ?

it's a really kewl library which makes javascript coding a lot more convenient. It simplifies certain coding tasks and allows for more advanced control over the DOM.

Before you settle on jQuery, try have a look at other javascript libraries and see if they might suit you more.
have a look at http://www.javascriptlibraries.com/

jQuery is easily my preference for a js lib.

jQuery is easily the most used js library now. Also check out their ThemeRoller when you can

UPFRONT DISCLAIMER: Lack of coffee in the office has a detrimental effect on productivity.

Too little coffee... *ghmph* Our coffee ran out this morning and we're waiting for Boardroom Coffees to deliver some more, but it's only arriving TOMORROW MORNING!

Aye. It has the distinction of being the first open source library to be bundled with VS. Also the default library for ASP.Net MVC and Drupal.

Wow... just, wow...

*silent moment for dequadin's descent into instant-coffee-hell*

You know what's the sad part in all this? We STILL don't have any coffee. We had to revert to buying Wimpy-coffees this morning! Luckily the Wimpy across the road was open just after 7AM. It tasted horrible. Nothing compares to the bitter, blissful taste of extra-strong filter coffee. NOTHING.

/cue "nothing tastes like FRESCA"-guy to do a coffee-like phrase

Hence you shouldn't post so early in the morning, it's not healthy :)

Yes thank you, it was tough but I made it through okay. At least the good stuff is back :p

AcidRaZor, you should check the demos at ui.jquery.com and plugins.jquery.com for a start. If that doesn't give you an idea of what can be done (esp. the plugins) then I'll source a few websites.

I use a nice bookmarklet called WTFramework that tells me which js framework is in use on a site. Very nice.

rofl its not called cyber sex but... java sex :D
