Juice fasting

I've done it before.
Besides loosing some weight it's also a good detox.

Just get yourself a proper juicer, masticating or triturating. Those high rpm shredders introduce to much oxygen into the juice and leave some fine solids behind.

Something near & dear to my heart......I grow & make my own beet & carrot/celery juices! Great stuff!

Has to be fresh juice, preferably from organic fruit and veg. Using V8 liquifruit etc will just make you sick. There are some procedures to follow so research it a bit beforehand.

V8 Organic is 100% organic fruit juice.

Sure, preparing it yourself still feels healthier.

It's more than likely pasteurized like all other mass produced juices. If you're doing a juice fast and living off juice for 5-21 days, I'd strongly advise avoiding canned products and making your own fresh juice. Unless Anony-mousse wants to try it and put his money where his mousse is ;-)

It is organic, so I doubt it's pasteurized. However, I am not saying this stuff is equal to fresh juice and should be substituted. I wouldn't. I am still no anti commercialist though who thinks all prepared products are bad for your health since those particular juices are not processed, apparently.

Still healthier than coke I guess ;-)

Pasteurized could simply mean boiled, this would not render the product inorganic, just unsuitable for a juice fast. I don't say its bad for your health as a beverage, just not appropriate for a juice fast.

Yes, I totally agree.

I so want apple carrot something juice now.

How much juice can you drink a day when doing such a diet?

1 glass approx every 60-90 minutes, followed by an equal amount of water. Its also ok to have more inbetween if you're struggling and feeling hungry.

That's why I'm asking because I think I'd be hungry all the time. But still, I am sure it feels so good. I was in hospital once and wasn't allowed to eat but had to drink lots of disgusting solution to flush my system. Damn, I felt so clean inside and out, literally, after that.

The first 2 days can be quite difficult but it gets much easier after that, don't really feel hungry as long as you don't skip your juice every hour or so.

I'll think about doing that in the near future.

What is the reason for detox? Are your liver and kidneys not working?

Got nothing to do with that IMO. Purely for colon cleansing and/or weight loss. Besides, why shouldn't people at least try to support their precious organs? Some treat them bad some treat them good...

I don't really know about these detox diets, for me they are too much a shock to your system and then nobody follows the rules afterwards. Sounds more like a mind control exercise for 24-48 hours a year to me. People proving their minds can control their appetites. Anorexic tendants anyone?
