Jumped ship from Afrihost

If anything you guys have made me wary about OW, I work from home during the day. Can't afford slow internet.
 
I was on Openweb Gamer King (essentially their Gold accounts, just marketed differently) just this past month. Perfect speeds and perfect latency during after hours. However, during business hours (sometime early in the morning until 17h00) the line completely dies. I could not do anything online, even Google and MyBB would time out more often than not. And when it does not time out, it's stuck loading for a good 5 minutes.

The (extremely) odd thing was, during the day, even though my internet was dead, my torrents ran at full speed... um??

But torrenting didn't really cut it because I also like to download at night, then stream and browse during the day. Which is why I cancelled my account with OW.
 
I just moved from Afrihost uncapped to TI uncapped.
On Afrihost I had 1mbps line and did about 7 gigs per day even if I was shaped nearly constantly. I just started TI 3 days ago and I'm on 2mbps and I barely do 5gb per day. Streaming youtube and other videos is a bit spotty and the line seems very erratic. I think Afrihost offers better value even if it's a bit more expensive.

Either I'm lying or the product description and performance is lying. They have exactly the same set up, and it seems they are shaped in the same way -- horrible connection during the day, perfect after hours.

My Gold works perfectly during the day thanks.

Do you really think any company would offer a tier service level for half the price? Your connection was crap during the day, because that's what you paid for.

What I pay for my 6Meg account is more than the 10Meg gamersking account. And there's a reason for that.

I had 6mbps Gold and it was crap during the day. Don't think one size fits all with OW. The account is certainly not consistent in performance across users.

I wouldnt say that I'm an abuser but I own 2 mobile devices, a laptop, a pc, and a microserver. My housemate owns a PC and a laptop and a tablet. So there are many things sucking up my home WiFi.

Nonsense. If the set up was the same it would have cost the same as a Gold account. Gamers King is optimized for gaming with after-hours downloads being optimized. Other than those two things, it performs the same as a Standard Uncapped account.

If I am to be honest. I just picked up my Telkom Internet account today. It is kinda bad right now, but it seems like it is a global issue for everyone. If it doesnt get fixed by month end, I'll probably jump back into bed with Afrihost.
