Junior IT Tech - Pretoria

So glad I got out this industry. When I started in 2008 for a junior desktop position, I was offered R18k

14 years later, you earn less.
Anyway goodluck, you will find someone desperate but don't expect them to stick around.

count yourself very very lucky that you got offered 18k for a junior position back then.Lots of times its based on the company and not really your skills.obviously corporates have money to blow so will offer the highest salaries , but most end of doing basic tasks. They will then still outsource the senior work to an external service provider.

I think it would help if you include what training is included. I find that a lot of these junior roles do have additional learning opportunities, supported by the companies, if that is the case it would really add to your offering. Also, if mentoring is provided to get this person on track.

As Linux and Server support is advantageous - also include if learning is provided on these requirements if it is not a current skill?

Also, include what qualifications and amount of experience you are looking for, if this is someone newly qualified or with a year or so experience.

why do you need training.Isnt a core skill for any IT person is to be self motivated and study themselves ? Even when you get to senior level you still dont know everything and have to do your own research when working on issues.

Looking at today's salaries, Ye it does look like that.

Not everyone can afford the training and there are superstars out there, who just need a little hand up.

udemy , courses are as low as R200.You dont always have to use "official" training which i agree costs stupid money with some vendors.
