Web Crew is an innovation focussed team based in the Western Cape of South Africa and Auckland, New Zealand. We've recently been infected by some awesomeness disease and have been spreading the stuff ever since.
We’re looking for folks who have already contracted the awesomeness disease to join the movement and get paid to do cool stuff.
We work in a casual, but energetic work environment. Our team is partly remote, partly on-site. We are talented individuals with small egos and a real “can-do” attitude – we’d like to keep it this way! We are completely open to a remote working arrangement, particularly if your level of awesomeness exceeds the recommended level.
Start Date: ASAP
Length: Contract, 12 month full-time opportunity with the potential for long-term contracting based on performance.
Work location: The specific team that needs the awesome individual has its HQ in the peaceful Langeberg Area. Again, home office/remote team members will be considered. If you’re interested in free coffee then obviously you may need to consider moving closer
What You Will Be Doing:
• Designing and developing amazing websites (this involves more than just making clients happy, it’s about being proud of your work).
• Participating in changing the world
What You Need for this Position:
• Proficient understanding of web mark up, including HTML5, CSS3.
• Extensive knowledge of WordPress.
• Understanding of E-Commerce.
• Ability to design and interpret user requirements.
• Ability to manage own projects.
• Good understanding of SEO.
• At least a medium-sized brain (think “quick learner”).
• Good communication and time management skills
• Strong attention to detail
Very desirable:
• Proficient understanding of PHP, client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery
Optional but scores some serious extra brownie points:
• Experience in App Development
• Understanding of CentOS and cPanel Administration
We don’t need you to be familiar with all of these technologies to work with us. Great* people are effective and learn what we use quickly (or introduce us to better ways of working).
*thought we’d use “great” instead of awesome to prove our vocabs aren't small.
Ideally, the position is a permanent role. We are flexible on the hours and location to get the work done. Otherwise, it will be 8 hrs per day, 5 days a week. Salary will depend on experience.
