Greetings,

I am really really in need of a job as a Graphic Designer.
I started my own business 5 years ago - on the 1st of March 2020... it seems bad luck and bad timing were out for revenge.
There are some prospects for decent work on the horizon, but promises do not pay the bills.

I have 25 years of experience in Graphic Design, Web Design and Brand Design. Being on the wrong side of 40, it seems experience isn't as attractive as I thought.

Design Expertise:
  • Corporate - Branding, Aesthetic and Concept
  • Logo and Brand Design
  • Signage
  • Print Media
  • Graphic Design - Medium to High-end
  • Digital Media
  • AI creative and stock
Software Experience:
  • CorelDraw
  • Adobe After Effects
  • Adobe Premier
  • Adobe Photoshop & Affinity Photo 2
  • Adobe Illustrator & Affinity Designer 2
  • Adobe Dreamweaver
  • HTML & Bootstrap
Brand Experience:
Toyota SA, KFC, Woolworths, SA Touch Rugby (Touch Boks), Pick n Pay, UD Trucks etc.
I’m open to both remote and hybrid roles - project, contract or full time.
If you know of any opportunities or have any leads, please reach out!

Thank you.

I am not in the "design world" but the current job market is cooked, here & everywhere and pretty much every industry.

I don't say that likely or to troll or to be "clever". I'm currently balls deep in the industry of job hunting & it is ruthless for many reasons.

I do have a simple tip though, you clearly have a ton of exp & I assume a hella good portfolio so aggressive LinkedIn networking should be your go to.

I'm currently on that train, by aggressive I mean aggressive. All angles, all leads, just message, in a tactical manner.

Use AI to do this smarter, approach is NB. Streamline search strings, follow relevant companies, connect with recruiters & try get your name out there, get something/someone to keep you in the back of their mind when a role comes around.

Good luck!

Cheers FiestaST.

I am on LinkedIn - picked up some great leads, network like a boss, but it seems like Corporate SA just lost it's mojo the last 3 years.

But I'll keep pushing. There are a couple of solid chances for work in the next few months, it's just getting by till then...

Good luck. You’ll find something I’m sure.
I’m just so glad that I never have to design another website ever again.

"Flippen tough" is one way to look it at.

I prefer the term brutal.

It will mentally break you.

All you can do is cont up-skill, network, tactically apply.
