Well first let me just say that what a great console, this is my 2nd console, the last console I owned was a ps 1, as I am mostly only a pc gamer, I only got the Wii U for the Nintendo titles, and I can highly recommend one if anyone is having second thoughts.

If you're someone that wants a device more for the eye candy then ya I guess the Wii wouldn't be fore you, but I have a PC for this, and what is so awesome is that the Nintendo games still have the same feel they did on my first TV games set playing the 1st ever Super Mario! Such nostalgia.

At first I thought the remote with the screen display was a bit of a gimmick, but then after 5 minutes of using it I realised how awesome it actually is, to be able to move from the Tv and go lay somewhere else and have the Wii stream to the remote, and I find myself playing just on the small screen quite a bit, because I was really surprised by the quality of the screen, ya it's no HD but its way better than the 3ds, I was expecting the screen quality of the 3ds, but it wasn't, if only the 3ds has the screen quality of the remote that would be great because that is the only thing that has every put me off from buying a 3ds, had it one day and took it back.

So ya if you looking for a console with with some really fun little games i'd get this, but I can't see it being a device for those big AAA titles like Watch Dogs etc. For me the Wii feels more like an "indie device" where indie games should be played if you know what I mean, and I think it is well worth the price, before I though it was maybe an over priced device for what you get, but it is actually well worth it.

Honestly makes me wonder how this device hasn't sole as many as expected, hopefully this year they have a better marketing strategy.

FTFY - so if you are based in Germany, may I ask how many Euro did you pay for it? Was it a package with games included?

If it was cheaper, more people would have bought it.

^ this ... would love to get it for my cherubs, but it is just too pricy to do that.

Because the general public see the WiiU as an accessory for the original Wii and not as a separate console. Whoever decided using the same with a "u" added for a new console should be fired.

Wii U is way overpriced in my opinion. If it was like R2000 I would go for it.

Love my Wii U and got it for 3k, they were 2k at Toysrus but they were out of stock by the time I got there :p.

Haha! ZINNNG!

But srsly, why buy a Wii U? It has no games besides stagnated nintendo IP's

If you like the Pokemon series I find the wii games fun (Smash Bros and Pokepark) :D.

Honestly at a lower price point I'd be quite keen on the Wii U by now. It's amassed a very respectable portfolio of games. I've always been crazy about Nintendo's franchises and it seems like the Wii U versions are some of the best to come out in the last 10 years. Mario Kart 8, Kirby, Super Mario 3D World, remastered Wind Waker, Pikmin3, DKC... that's a solid batch of gaming.

The real cost is per title. Up to R600 per title is too steep for emerging markets IMO. Occasionally you get some good specials though - Mario Kart 8 + another title free is on next month.

R669 preorder price for Mario Kart 8 is crazy why couldn't they keep it at R500 like the wii :(.

Not really worth getting any of the current gen consoles if you ask me

Where? It's under R600 in the online store - saw it yesterday. Also, you get a freebie with it, so 2 good games for under R600 - I think around R285 each.
