Just got my

What OS will you be running? From 2.66Ghz to 3.4Ghz is already an impressive oc on air cooling...
 
Presently running Vista Ultimate 64bit

Waiting for one of my staff to give me a 3d max file so i can see how fast it renders in comparision to my Q9550.

Itai help find me a cooler for this thing :)

hmmm maybe i shoudl steal my brothers aircon for the night and see if that helps :D

apparently there is a bracket for the Thermalright 120's so i shall see when Itai gets me one

bah then i would have to go one better :p

But seriously it is a nice combo but it does nothing my Q9550 could not do but luckily it is for the company and rendering so money well spent :)

Now Itai just needs to get me that bracket :D

Edit, sig not going to change as i am going to stick with my Q9550, hmmm but maybe not, shall have to see

There is a clip one can buy for the Thermalright Ultra series ... basically, you buy whichever Ultra you want, and then this additional clip. Waiting for suppliers to load it on their system ... should be another day or 2 :)

Yes yes ... I haven't forgotten ;) ... will get you the bracket as soon as I the supplier is willing to invoice me :p

(Only got onto MyADSL now ... had no time at all and tomorrow is worse :( )
 
Turns out there is a part missing in the boxes of all the Thermalright i7 Brackets. So the new ones will only come in next week :(
 
Okie put my TRUE on and temps are through the roof (load temps)

Idle 32-34 across all cores
Load at stock hits low sixties after a couple of minutes

Oced to 3.15 at the moment and max temp has been 68

Disabled hyper threading for the fun of it and temps dropped 7 or 8 degrees across all cores

p.s. i know it is darn hot at the moment and that will not be helping but i still got better temps with the stock cooler.

Will reseat tomorrow and see if i made a mess up :)

Presently 3.364 full load temps maxed at 63 (prime95 8 cores 1 hour 3 minutes so far, no errors)

cpu at 1.125V

To hot now to try go higher so shall do more tonight or hopefully it rains this afternoon to cool things down.
