On my way back from JHB just now, cruising around 120 and up ahead there's a blockade with a bunch of cars going probably around 90. I slow down gradually in the gears till I'm about 4-5 meters from a corsa bakkie in front of me (still slowing down). The next moment this dude slams on the brakes. Big time. I was in the process of checking my rear view mirror and got the fright of my life. Managed to do an emergency brake and avoid hitting him.

A few seconds later, still confused why on earth this dude just did that and glad I avoided an accident, he does it again! Went down to like 30 on the highway with nothing obstructing him. Now at this point it's clear he took offence that I got to close to him or something and **tried** to cause an accident by braking like this.

Now I understand if someone is ramming up your backside and you get fed up, but the distance between our cars was hardly anything to get excited about. Especially since I was still in the process of slowing down.

Pretty upset, when the lanes cleared I drove up next to him and threw him a "wtf you doing" hand signal. Not the middle finger; staying classy. This dude already had his iPhone ready recording a video or taking pictures or something.

So he acts like a total douche, and then whips out his iPhone to record the reactions of people he almost caused to have an accident. And presumably, to stop them from doing anything cause now he's got evidence. I never understood how guys get into road rage fights, but this type of behavior... I will murder this guy if I get a hold of him.

What a douche. Sometimes you can only wonder in amazement at the stupidity and even recklessness of road users.
 
I've got a corsa bakkie. Rear visibility is shyte.

No excuse for being a douche- him braking to try to cause the same thing again is especially idiotic. I'd also have given him a :wtf:
 
Thats why in a lot of countries like Oz, people start using bonnet mounted cameras for dealing with MORONS like these. My friend has a GTi and some prick reversed into him there and the camera recorded it all. He sped off but was arrested the same day at his work place

I think the same applies in Russia. There are hundreds of onboard videos of retarded Russian drivers on Youtube. All dash mounted cameras.

This sounds fun! Those GoPRO HD cameras have dash mounts, but they''re a bit pricey for my liking. Still, a dash-mounted phone with other side camera recording could be the way to go.

Speaking of your "friend" in the corsa, next time report the license plate to Bad Driving (part of sanral) - it does nothing, other than establish that the dick with the phone is driving badly first. 0861400800
 
I do have a gopro - might consider to permanently mount it when I drive. I'm still totally flabbergasted - how unbelievably stupid and unnecessary! Why on earth would someone do this?
 
Anyone know an online shop which sells a gopro+dash kit?

I saw something similar, an old lady refused to move and slowed down to almost 60km in the fast lane regularly hitting the brakes hard!
 
It's where the N1/N3 merges - just after Woodmead. My only theory is that individuals with this type of behavior don't have enough excitement in their lives. And acting out like this is the only way for them to add some drama to their gray lives.

Hate it when I get involved though - I got enough baby mamma drama!
 
And you'll probably find he was in the wrong lane to begin with.

Maybe drive past and chuck a hand full of ball bearings out of the window.

That's what makes this so bizarre - if I hadn't reacted I would have bailed into his back end. What would that achieve?
