Maybe his car had chassis damage (maybe prev accident not repaired through insurance) and he wanted a free car/decent repair at your cost...

Ja - I try for a 4sec gap and struesbob it gets filled very quickly.
80% of people on the roads are such utter cnuts these days and it just seems to be getting worse. No regard. Although I might be in a bad mood too if I had to drive a Corsa bakkie and use an iPhone all day...
I stuck my gopro to my windscreen with one of the sticky pads... it fits behind my mirror and doesn't obstruct my view at all.

The GoPro is not ideally suited for hi-way or town driving.
Rather look for something like the Smarty BX1500. Will record speed and GPS co-ordinates and you can overlay that on google maps

With the Land Rovers solid steel bumper, I would just have geared down and floor it.... :twisted: ... but then again, it so slow, I'll never be driving it in the fast lane in the first place!

That's the risk you'd have to run when doing something like this, if they go into your back, then it's their fault. Regardless of who says what. And if your insurance doesn't include a hire car, re-look at your insurance.
There's also no shame in driving a car that has been in an accident. I bet you're the type of person that, when your car gets a dent, needs to buy a new one immediately because it's been in an accident..... logic. You have none.
No shame in driving it, but try trading in or selling a car that's been in even a tiny bumper bashing and repaired by the best, authorised panel beaters available. The dealers avoid it like it's infected with mega-AIDS, and eats babies.
Just acting as a devil's advocate here but hearing that you almost slammed into him, is there no chance you were too close in the first place. It is no excuse for behaviour like that at all people should keep the required distance
I couldn't care about shame, I haven't bought a new car in 6 years and that was the first new car I bought(I still drive it).
I do however care that a repaired car often does much worse in ncap style crash tests, and I would have no idea if the repair place screwed up a sensor for the airbags.
I just prefer to give myself the best chance at surviving, unlike you.

Sure I was closer than the regular following distance, but that's not unusual when you are slowing down. Was I riding his coat-tails? If I was I'd be without a car right now.
