make sure you ALWAYS call the Telkom Accounts department after a fault has been fixed. Keep your reference numbers handy as well as the ID number of the owner of the line.
My home line was down 7 days at the end of Jan and another 3 days in Feb.
This month i got a credit of R487
Last week my line wasnt syncing properly for 3 days. and our area had a general adsl downtime for a day. I'v got ref numbers and will lodge a claim.
Accounts guys answer their phones relatively quick (under 10mins).
Be polite and friendly with them and they'll have someone 'investigate'
Next month or the following month you should have gotten a credit. They work pro-rata type on downtime.
Wonder what the outcome would be if this is done en-masse. EVERYONE has a telkom horror story of downtime at some point
