Here is my pingtest.net results with Cell C:

HSPA+ Signal 93%
No downloads or anything running:

On a test to newlands
packet loss 28%
ping 120
Jitter 59ms

My grade is F.

Took screenshot. Tell me how to add it and I will.

My internet is disconnecting constantly. Had to download my xbox live update to my computer in firefox because it was disconnecting. And then installed it via usb. Now my xbox is disconnecting everytime my connection drops...

Is this just me?
I don't want to suicide!!hahaha...

It's not just you. I live in the Table View area in Cape Town and have been experiencing an extremely unreliable service since day one. Erratic speeds and sudden drop offs. HSDPA switching to EDGE constantly. And I seldom experience speeds above 1.5 mbps.

Starting to think I was better off with Telkom. :(

Very frustrating..the connection was working well for a while. I was getting speeds of 5mbps, however this morning (In the same spot) the connection is constantly failing and i am not getting higher than 300kbps

Yea I downloaded the latest MDMA and switched to 3G only however I am getting the prompt you mentioned in the thread:
Cannot load dialog.

Error 623: The system could not find the phone book entry for this connection.

Have read through it all but still unsure how to edit RAS and fix further?

Well, if you have got that far, your modem should remain in '3G Only' mode until you run MDMA again and change it, so you can continue using the Cell-C dashboard.

I've copied your post to the MDMA thread, hopefully you'll get sorted there.

high jitter, high packet loss, modulation scheme changes. Sounds like an overloaded tower.
Sounds more like switching between two towers or cell-breathing at the edge of a cell to me.
An external antenna would probably help in either case.

Haha, all the grandmasters are speaking!

Well I've managed to set the laptop up as a router on a chair on the bed in my room.
My ping is better is: 75 download is 2.8mbps... but my upload is 0.08....wtf....

Trying to buy a xbox live gold subscription was so difficult with the thing disconnecting the whole time with credit card information, but eventually it worked.

Set the xbox up, it took forever... Everything activated now, but as soon as it switches from hspa+ to wcdma the xbox loses connection to xbox live. I have to come to the computer that is on a chair on my bed. Reset the connection. Share it again in connectify me (a program i downloaded)... And over and over again... wtf!! I just bought a new xbox, plus fifa, plus gold membership, plus CELL C.... and... plus i rented halo reach for 2days now trying to get it to work. Gave up 2 days of partying to play xbox live.. And it is not working.

I'm going to use your guys favourite word: cell c = fail

Last night it seemed to be working fine, with a few disconnects.. By disconnects I mean it switching to wdcma and then back again and no data travelling.... But today its cooked... cooked... cooked... cooked...

Dude phone customer support, speak to a tech and they will phone you back to troubleshoot your PC (We know it working but they have to before they do next step). Next they will send someone out to check the tower and they will get back to you. (When this happened to me I found out my parents home is out of coverage by like 50 metres. But I'm still happy cos it flying at my place).

Well i'm definitely covered! The area is red red... like now, the speed is awesome, playing fifa with no problem online... but then again look at the time... Hope its not stuffed during the day everyday...
Are there any programs to speed it up a bit, like minimize disconnects and stuff?

Another, valid possibility.

If it is all fine during periods when people are usually sleeping but problematic when people are awake, then it most likely is overloading.

Ja, but then what is the solution to that?
How am I going to force everyone to sleep for me to play xbox live?
Sucks.

It's better now... My packet loss for the first time is 0%...
And the blue light is staying on.

Hope when I buy a 3g/4g router it will be stable.

I had similiar problems when my signal strength was 91-93 dBi - Like Ginggs mentioned earlier external antenna would most likely fix it.Did for me.
Inside before i couldn't even get HSPA (103dBi)- With antenna i've now got stable connection (81 dBi).
Is like night & day differance.
Signal seems to come and go with atmospheric's i guess & when you sitting at 93dBi the disconnect problems seem to still happen - like you seeing.
If it were me i'd buy an antenna before a router
