just need a little cpu help

ok my friend has asked me to help him with his dual core cpu, it seems that only one cpu is working the other is just sitting looking pretty, and i just don't know wat to do, i heard one can use taskmanager to do it but it's just the same taskmanager, even in 3Dmark 06 it seems to only 1 cpu

make sure the the bios is set so that it uses both cores, and that the bios actually supports dual core

Yip... Had to do a BIOS up date on a system the other day, check the website of your Mother to see if a BIOS up-date is listed

Might be an idea if you check what your revision is first... like for Gigabyte it will be something like F3

Unless you have dual BIOS be very carefull with up-dating

But ja, set it in the bios, and see if Windows recognizes the two cores after that.

You're probably not going to see any CPU usage on the second core unless you're reunning a multithreaded application.

Try something simple like Winrar, the newer versions have multithreading.
