K-3570-Z modem giving problems

I'm using a K3570-Z modem with a vodacom sim, and Im experiencing the following problems.

My modem is connected, there is a signal, but when I try open a page, it is if my modem is not plugged at all. It works fine for a while and then it just kicks out like this and i cannot open a page, but it is connected.

Then the second issue that Im experiencing is that while Im busy using the modem it will all of a sudden say No Device, but the device is still plugged and it is not kicked out from the usb port, it still shows that it is plugged.

Has anyone experience these problems and what did you guys do to fix it

Try different USB port, on the back, not front of the PC. On the laptop plug it to the port close to power supply socket. Check your OS version and if USB 2.0 drivers are loaded in device manager.

Im using windows XP and it does not really matter in which port I plug them from or back it is all the same. Im using it on a desktop pc.

For Windows XP SP2 or better is required. Did you manage to see what drivers are loaded for USB modem? In device manager select View devices by connection and check whether modem is loaded to USB 2.0 drivers or 1.1 drivers.

I have now installed Windows 7 and will give it a try, my XP had service pack 3 and usb drivers was for 2.0

Yeah thats a old problem with XP and the modem drivers. I had the exact same problem with a Huawei modem. Huawei has released a fix for their drivers. I was so fed up at the time I didnt bother and started using mwconn which resolved my problem. So if your out of options you can give it a try

Hotfix

I had a similar problem, with both vista and win7, but not xp sp3 (maybe it was fixed in that service pack)
My modem would freeze, and wouldn't be able to download anymore, until I reconnected it.
But the win7 hotfix fixed it...

I don't think it was helping. :O
Besides, longer deal with this matter, come to the conclussion that drivers problems are rather activated by power problems. More severe problems cause also modem reseting itself (it shows Windows re-detecting device). In this case modem is keeping connection, maybe not... just thinking... What happen if modem was just hanging with light on (it didn't reset properly), it is why is not responding?
EDIT: Now remember, I have this modem, not used frequently, but when it was working in older computer, it happenned at least once. it was hanging with blue light on. Other modems had also power problems with this computer (PII with USB 1.1), but only this one didn't reset properly.
Another advice, keep other power hungry USB things (like external hard drives) disconnected while using modem. This including USB memory sticks. Try plug it to the self-powered USB 2.0 hub, the other benefit is that you can re-orient modem antenna, getting better seception.
