Hi

I recently got a K3520 USB modem, but things aren't going smoothly...

First of all, the modem struggles to connect to the pc. I'm an error message like "SIM isn't activated", and it would search for the modem OR network for 10min without results.

When it is connected it browse at 10kbps! When I insert it in my Nokia N78 I get up to 200kbps (no 3G coverage).

It worked the first time quite well, receiving upto 150kbps.

As many suggested I tried the default Huawei software for the E169, but I don't know how to open the file that I've downloaded. I got it from http://www.huawei.com/mobileweb/en/doc/list.do?type=-1&id=4381

Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I've tried it with my laptop (vista) and pc (xp). Maybe the modem is faulty or it aren't meant for GPRS use.

U only getting GPRS on it? The modems nowadays support GPRS/EDGE/3G/HSDPA. You should get similar speeds on the modem as with your phone on GPRS.

The modem says VODACOM GPRS, but I guess it means Edge included. On my phone I have Edge coverage.

Sounds like you're struggling with Coverage. Try setting a 3G Only profile.

Manage Connections ->> <Select Device> ->> Edit ->> Select 3G Only.
