I have a machine running Windows 7 Basic. I have the vodafone K4505 USB Modem working on Vodafone Mobile Connect v9.4.4.17702. When the modem is connected at the front of the desktop machine it connects and internet is there. The moment I plug in network cable, there is no more internet, although VMC still says connected. Just disabling the Local Area Connection Network Adapter does not solve the internet issue. I have to physically unplug the network cable.

The network is connected to a router which also serves as a DNS assigning IP's in the 10.0.0.* range.

Can anyone please give some ideas on how to fix this?

I had the same thing. I could not have my wifi and 3G running at the same time. Both would be connected...but is is as if they conflict and blocks both from working. Perhaps someone genius here knows how to resolve it....but it never bothered me that much.

At least I am not the only one. This K4505 and VMC connects via an additional Network Adapter that is created upon installation, whereas previous modems and software connected via a dial-up connection created by the installation.

I've had no trouble with something like this. At work i'm connected to a LAN. When i connect via 3G, the 3G takes preference and works 100%. Both connected at the same time.

@Iam3G, what is your order of connections set as. On the Network Connections screen, goto Advanced > Advanced Settings. From the Adapter and Bindings tab, what is the order of your connections looking at the Local Area Connection (company network) and Local Area Connection (created by 3G modem)?

@Iam3G can you please check if you have a Local Area Connection or a Dialup connection that gets connected (from the Network Connections) when you click Connect on the VMC software, also what are the Manage Connection settings (from VMC) in terms of what is enabled and in which order.

Damn this thing is pissing me off!!

I test various modems from clients, so its either or. Works with both. I dunno, things just tend to... work out for me regarding technology :D
