I know, I know... search the forums! I have and I've tried everything. I have a shiny new K850i and am having issues with gmail. It works, but it prompts me for action every time it connects to gmail servers, thus breaking push email.

The prompt is "web site uncertified", which is seriously strange because I've tried to manually install the cert as mentioned elsewhere, but my phone says it already has it. I found the exact serial of the cert (on google's support pages) and confirmed that it is installed in the list of trusted certificates on my phone.

Does anyone have any ideas? Anyone else encountered this on a K850i?

How are you attempting to access GMail - are you using the GMail Java application for mobile devices, or are you using the cellphone's browser with a url like http://www.gmail.com/ ? - if you're using that url try http://mail.google.com/ instead, but best to use the GMail mobile application.

I like using my phone's native mail client when possible so I'm trying to use IMAP. I'm also mostly keen on the push email support, so using the phone's client is really appealing.

I'll give mail.google.com a shot though, thanks for the suggestion!

No luck with that - I just get "cannot connect to server".

Also, the specific error I usually get is "Web site not certified".

Its becoz you are connecting through SSL. On each phone i setup gmail on, it gives some or other warning about the "untrusted certificate". I even noticed it in Outlook once.

So i doubt theres anyway around it, unless you can get it to work on a non-secure port.

Hmm thanks. I had it working flawlessly (using IMAP and SSL) on my Samsung D600 :(
