Kalahari.com vouchers thread

Twitter says its up.....

Alive and slower than ever before! :erm:

who stole the last centrum, but thanks "Kalahariwomen" worked great. now to find out if there is a "Kalahariman" voucher

I think it just crashed with visitor overload - I think they were probably trying to get rid of all stock on hand for the Takealot takeover

I paid via EFT

Some things to keep in mind:
Delivery is subject to stock availability at the time we receive your payment.

Don't like that clause! I hope they do process my goodies or else I am going to cancel

I think so too. Hope they clear out other departments

Ok so just a word of warning about Kalahari.

My GF ordered a whole bunch of items from the sale yesterday and she got charged the full amount (so the "WAS" price not the "NOW" price). They also didn't deduct the R100 discount off order over R350 voucher code she used.

The scumbags had all the discounts displayed on the order up until she hit the order button when suddenly instead of R650 being deducted, they deducted R1238. She phoned them now and they're claiming that the items were not in fact discounted and they want screenshots as proof. Obviously she doesn't have any screenshots although in future we'll be taking them. All the items are now out of stock so you can't see the prices.

The only item I can prove was charged incorrectly was http://www.kalahari.com/Camera-Photo-Video/World-Of-Heroes-Lang-Arm-Smartmount-8-5_p_48246870. Onn her order its showing as R185.

Anyone else experienced this?

@Napalm2880 with regards to the voucher. Example the total amount o the value of R350 with 10 goodies in the basket during checkout, apply R100 voucher = R250, if they unable to source 1 product to the value of R10 they cancel that item from your basket... The total now would be R340, you have to pay the difference of R90, always contact Kalahari to substitute the item with something small. The amount is greater! This happen to me and lesson learnt.

Did your girlfriend make the payment on the day of promotion! If she didn't then she forfeits the promotion price, always have proof for every transaction you do on any e-commerce website! Example if during checkout you select EFT method unfortunately they don't reserve the product to be assigned to you unless payment has been received!

I am very wary of Kalahari after my first transaction with them. The voucher is normally applied if you check under orders

Order total: R353.00
Vouchers applied: R100.00
Order #xxxxxxxx

Yesterday the promotion was applied for the promotion products today I noticed it changed but managed to get my EFT in before midnight! I will keep everyone posted to see if they do process my order as only 1 item is in stock. If that is the case I am cancelling.

I had an arsenal of kalahari pics I took with my Zest T1 phone before my Zest T1 phone decided to scap out as a Zest T1 seemingly phone does. *Cough* Oops, wrong thread.

I like to take a picture or screenshot of my checkout screen before I action an order on kalahari since I've had the exact opposite happen to me before. My "amount due" was showing less than what I expected it to be. I paid the amount due. Had to put up quite a fight with that order in the end. Compare that with what happens with Takealot when something goes wrong like this - "bank error in your favour - collect 200".

Example if during checkout you select EFT method unfortunately they don't reserve the product to be assigned to you unless payment has been received!

I don't know hey. My experience over the years differ quite a bit from your post. My experience leads me to believe they have a live stock system. You can even test it: Take a product and check that they have a fixed amount of stock and eg. order all 4 units with payment selected as EFT, that product will go out if stock immediately. As in, the stock is reserved for you. Where this system is screwed up, the last time I sat and tested it at least, is that cancelled orders will not always increase the stock count immediately.

So the order you mention might not "show" any stock at all right now, except for that one item, but if my hypothesis hold it does not mean that they do not have stock of the rest it but rather that the stock was allocated to your order.

All items were in stock during time of payment and she paid immediately with a credit card.

UPDATE: Just got a callback from a manager at Kalahari. They've agreed to refund the difference between the over-billed amount and the R650 which should have been charged in the first place. From the call it sounded like the staff have been slammed hard for the issues with the site/billing. Should take 3-5days for the amount to reflect and I'll provide an update whether that was successful or not. Credit to Kalahari manager (didn't catch the name) for speedily resolving the issue.

Note to all.. take screenshots during checkout process!!!

Did you take time to read Kalahari email with regards to the promotion(Terms and Condition). Clearly stated they can cancel if the item is out of stock. Even though when I did process to checkout using EFT method stock was available and today only 1 ITEM is ready to be shipped which is a clear indication only 1 item was available! They probably modified their terms and condition on sales cos many would select EFT and not make payment which means stock sits in their warehouse! I will see how long it takes them to prepare my parcel... I only read the terms and condition late. I didn't want my credit card to be charged twice in some occurrences it can happen..

If the item is not on promotion then I can understand they reserve it.

Once payment was received by EFT

EFT or bank deposit received
