Karabo Motlana is ICASA CEO
Before joining ICASA Karabo Motlana was Executive Head of Regulatory Affairs at Cell C, a post he has held since 2001.
Prior to that he was Executive: Telecommunications Policy and Licensing at Telkom SA in the Regulatory and Public Policy division.
One of Mr. Motlana’s highest achievements was acquiring more spectrum for Cell C.
Mr. Motlana assisted in the drafting the amendment of Broadcasting Act 2002, Telecommunications Act 2001.
He also assisted in drafting the Electronic Communications Act 2006.
An admitted attorney, Motlana is a holder of BA, BL (Hon) and LLB degrees from the Universities of Witwatersrand and Zimbabwe.
