I started growing some stuff indoors but I would like to move them outside, they are all in pots and most are herbs. I do want to start trying to grow some fruits /veg soon.

I have a table which I would place my pots on but I'm concerned about the monkeys in the area. I'm thinking of maybe a wire fence or some sort of cage to put over them but not sure.

Any ideas?

We also have lots of monkeys. They don't seem to like my dogs so they don't come into my garden. Just run along the walls and roof. I think a sprinkler of sorts would be a good option.

wonder about cats, as cats are territorial, and will hiss and attack monkeys that come near them.

also cats take care of themselves, dont need humans to feed them, they are perfectly capable of taking care of themselves.

unless your allergic to cat hair, that is.

Cats are useless.

Monkeys are really vicious. They attack cats and smaller dogs - my father has stitched up a few of them. Heck if there were enough of them they'd probably attack the big dogs too.

Don't think monkeys partake of "stuff", you'd only need worry when you start with the fruit planting otherwise your "stuff" will be fine.

Haha yeah, monkey's don't carry Rizzlas and matches, or credit cards and straws, at least I don't think so.

I have a rottweiler ... so she chases most of them away, but occasionally the buggers will still come into the house to loot bread & fruits. I now put plastic snakes on my burglar bars ... they don't like that!

Yea , they don’t like water but you might need an expensive system with a zillion sensors to keep monkeys out of the whole garden.

My neighbours built a ‘monkey proof’ sort of wooden frame shed with chicken wire to cover their vegs. Theirs is walk-in with a hinged door, but smaller versions you can lift off also work well like the sort of 'cage' you mentioned - monkeys can’t get past it.

Yeah, your best option is to build an enclosure over the stuff you're growing...

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

When I had a cat, many of them don't give a damn and would attack monkeys just fyi lol.

As for the other suggestion, I might just see if I can get a sort of fence made just to cover it up.

Also there was no need for the posts regarding the term "monkeys". Yes I love humor but those replies could start something. We all know

True, but what is also true is that offence is taken, not given.

True. What is also true is that in the current political climate, you can be assured offense will be taken. So things like this, whilst intrinsically innocent, will be spun and you'll potentially find yourself on the wrong side of the argument.

If it could be perceived as racist, it likely will be by those with an agenda. So why open yourself up to it? It's a hot topic in this country - far better to not provide ammo.
