Where in the Helderberg can I get some grains?

The one place I did manage to get them the grains wouldn't ferment using the same standard technique I had previously used successfully.

If that was really the case it would cure those migraines...

Yoh, I tried it. It was like drinking jet fuel... which had already been ignited. :D

Lady in our church makes the stuff... she also swears by it.

I like it too. Except it did get a bit cheeeeeeesy if I left it for too long
Once or twice I've bought it it's been quite chunky toward the end. Just put it in a smoothie and it was fine. Have never really noticed the taste change too much. Just seems to get more fizzy.

Nothing at Shoprite

Well if she made it for you have you considered she might have added a special ingredient?

Nope just the Kefir. Tasted like 1000 year old worm carcasses.
Doesn't sound like you drank Kefir. Unless it was extremely rotten or had some wierd crap thrown in - the taste is as described earlier.

There's a lady in pretoria who sells the grains, she sends them via courier.

I'll see if I can find her details - might take a day or two.

Edit: Oh, I found something - try mailing [email protected].

Will you let me know if you get hold of her pse.

Well where can one buy this kefir stuff? In milk, yogurt or whatever
It's a fermented drink called Kefir. Health stores, wellness warehouse. Unless you want to make it yourself.

Most of the stuff in health stores is made with culture not with grains.
Ah right, wasn't aware. Wonder if it has a different nutritional profile, probiotics etc. Will try calling the people who make the one I buy and ask how they do it.
