A police officer accused of shooting dead a woman outside a police station was refused bail by the Kempton Park Regional Court on Wednesday because there was a possibility he may use a firearm again.
“There are questions as to whether he may repeat the same offence... the accused cannot handle a firearm with care and the accused is most likely to use the firearm again,” magistrate Eric Mhlari said in delivering his decision on bail.
“He had a previous conviction relating to a firearm... and he went at it again,” he said.
In 2003, Sergeant Manape Phineas Kgoale, 38, was found guilty of negligent use of a firearm.
