My 1995 Compaq keyboards with metal plate backings that each weigh about 2kg's have lasted me forever. Try find yourself one.

It's called Mechanical = I have an Acer one with that ugly beige and white keys still works 100%

My logitech keyboards have been fine.... it's mice, and mice buttons (randomly double clicking), and headphone cables that give me problems!

I know it's a bit old but serious keyboard users need mechanical switches. The only brand readily available locally is SteelSeries. They may be touted as a gaming keyboard but they're great for proper typists,of which I'm one. I've got the 6Gv2 and the only issue has been heavily used keys bouncing out of their sockets, or whatever you want to call them. Serious - I whack my keys when I type. These were fixed with a tiny bit of Prestick. Great keyboard with a really good sized return key, but I'll probably get someone to also bring me a Filco Tenkeyless from overseas. Same tech, better quality and minus the numpad, which is a waste of space.
