Hi Everyone

I wish KFC would break the Salsa Pocket back.

It was something similar to the BoxMaster.

It had a Tortilla wrap(similar to boxmaster). A Big chicken fillet + Slice of cheese and some greens (no tomato).
Then had this spicy almost pungent yet sweet salsa in the middle. (plenty of it).
The whole thing was then wrapped in a foil wrapping (to keep the heat in, but maybe this was just the packaging they used for this one at the time)

Only thing I found online that looked similar.. was this one :

Wish they would bring the KFC salsa Pocket back.

They only way I am ever buying KFC again is if they start adding cocaine to their food. For me KFC = expensive, oil drenched food with rubbish service.

Hi Pinball Wizard. Salsa pocket was fairly healthy. It wasn't sweet... but had loads of flavor.

The whole item had lattice and salsa in (apart from the cheese and the fried chicken breast). It's as healthy as the Boxmaster (but salsa pocket didn't have that added hashbrown that the boxmaster has)

Back in the day, when KFC had the Salsa Pocket on the menu. It was a different time. People did not really enjoy or try out spicy things.

I always liked hot food and chilli's (I just like extra flavor on my chicken and all meats really). For me normal chicken and some meats don't have much flavor as-is. I like it to have added flavor like a nice spicy tikka or maybe peri-peri kick.

Back to the story... Things changed about 12-15 years ago, all of a sudden people started trying out new dishes and new items on their menu's. People trying zinger wings, zinger fillets. Even having it dunked now with dunked zinger wings.

I think it would be awesome, to have the salsa back too.

The salsa pocket wasn't Nando's Extra hot spicy... It was a mild yet tasty red sauce. It had a lot of flavor.

I was so sad when they said it's not on the menu anymore. They said people were not liking it , because it was too spicy.

KFC used to sell "Salsa Pocket" back in 2000 i think. or 2005. It was a different time, people didn't embrace the "Spicy" foods as much as they do now. I think it was on the menu only for like a year or two.

It's basically a Tortilla, Wrapped around fillet of chicken and cheese and salad, Inside filled with Spicy Tomato Salsa sauce or gravy. The Tortilla wrapped closed and then enclosed in a silver wrapping. It was amazing. I remember i had it at least once or twice a week. (i sometimes ordered 2 at a time)

Checkout this picture. It looked like this but not so little amount of the red sauce. It was basically smothered in the red sauce.

What about this one? Its basically same as this.. Just minus the Hashbrown and completely drenched inside the tortilla with that spicy tomato salsa... but tortilla is wrapped closed up afterwards. Then wrapped in silver wrapping.

*Heck i suppose you could do it even with the hashbrown. It will just be one more ingredient.

Not many ingredients needed.. Tortilla, Chicken Fillet, Cheese , Some Salads, Spicy Tomato Salsa Sauce or gravy. Wrap closed and Package.

So a twista or what did they call it - sounds similar to the movie with the fly cows.

Two different Twisters... but yes.

I suppose a twister would come very close also.. If it was drenched with the red sauce inside.

Sorry to laugh at this post but you seem addicted to this salsa pocket.
Like i said it was on their menu for about 2years +-. I had it minimum 2 times per week. I really miss it man... ;)

Not sure if i can find a pic, But it was basically one of their rolls, with a large chicken strip with gravy inside.
Was cheap and so so good
What was "The Chow" ? Do you have a pic of how it looked or how was it made up ?

They need to bring back their spicy rice from the late 80s early 90s.... Tub of that and a mini loaf... Nom Nom nom
