KFC, Please bring the "Salsa Pocket" back

If they need to to bring anything back they need to bring back the Hawaiian Twister. They quietly removed it from the menu but still served it for quite some time. Recently they just stop serving it.

The classic and sweet chilli twisters are a total joke. Hawaiian Twister was the best there was with tangy mayo and pinapple. Wow. Really going to miss that one.

It is not code... That was what it was called. Like "KFC Double Crunch" or "KFC Sweet Chilli Twister" it was called "KFC Salsa Pocket"

Foldable Tortilla, Chicken fillet inside with cheese, Spicy / Peppery tomato sauce filled in pocket. Then folded closed.
(the sauce tasted like a tomato base with some mild chilli or tobasco in it) - Had a slight kick but it really worked well with the cheese and chicken.

It was really amazing. I was addicted to it. It was quite a while ago... it was in a time when not many people embraced spicy foods. Like you had people going to Nandos if they want something spicy. But since.. They have had good results with the Zinger wings and Zinger Chicken FIllets and now Masala chicken. People are now more open to trying more spicy things. Maybe it's just a pallet change or adapting to more flavor.

I have sent KFC some twitter messages , they have responded saying that it is something they will think about.

KFC, DUMP the spicy BS, and bring back plain old fashioned KFC chicken. And plain salt, not his chilly salt rubbish!
 
I quite love the chilli salt. But I miss the KFC Burrito and the Famous Bowl.

I loved it. Absolutely loved the crap out of it, and I don't know why. It had a funny mealy taste or texture to it, and the Grande Burrito sold by Mexican Fresh is much better, but I still loved it. Maybe it was just the chicken strips that was good for me in there, or it just worked?

We only had the one Burrito by us. Which was good. I had it 2 or 3 times before it was taken off the menu.
I checked online.. USA KFC / BFC has many version. <but it could be , because KFC and Taco bell linked up>

Can't understand why people believe eating spicy foods is trendy etc.
Can't they understand that there is only one reason why heavy amounts of spice and chillies are used?
It is simply because in certain parts of the world that is the only way to disguise that the food is actually vrot.

Well. in my own experience. I can't talk for others. Heavy amounts of spice and chillies are not used as being trendy. (not by me anyway. maybe chilliheads). My parents been using standard amounts of spice / chilli, that i would describe as being mild. My dad / mom don't eat HOT or extra HOT. They will throw a slight sprinkle of periperi spice on the chicken with sweet marinade to make it nice etc.

We do sometimes make nice chicken wings and try out some other marinades or spice rubs to see how it tastes to try something new, in the case if your bored of "the usual". Doesn't mean it will be "Super hot, or super spicy" just different than the norm.

Recently we tried chipotle spice rub mixed with BBQ Sauce and marinaded the chicken in it. Gives it a nice smokey flavour, but wasn't HOT by any means. Flavour was good. The Sweet BBQ and Chipotle works nice together.

I know what your getting at though, you get these adrenelin junkies or youngsters that put massive amount of Chillis on pizza or these Super hot chilli's like "ghost pepper" or "Trinidad Scorpion peppers" or "Reapers" on their pizza or chicken. I know a few of them, but they just Chilli-Heads.. they love the massive heat. <they crazy.. dunno what that stuff does to the insides...>

I love to taste my food , the spices or chilli must "improve" my chicken or steak or dish. Add more flavour, slight heat is fine. If the dish needs more heat.. then it's ment for that dish. Like most curry's must be hot (or hot'ish)

The marinated or spiced chicken you find at places like Checkers or Spar are vrot. If it's specifically part of the product like with KFC or Nandos it's usually not.

I think Geoff talking bout spar or checkers where they sell "pre-spiced raw meat" or pre marinated. Not that there is something wrong with the food.. it's just You can't tell if the chicken is fresh or maybe an old piece of chicken.

So it's something he looks out for. I like to spice my own meats, then you know your ingredient and also how much of each spice or herb goes on it. Some people like more peri or more salt or maybe slightly sweeter. That way you control the calories and flavour.
 
People saying that meat that goes off is marinated and then sold have no idea what they're talking about. Closer to expiration or a bit older, maybe, in some cases, but not off or "vrot". If it was off, everyone eating it (including me, who happens to like the marinated chicken cuts) would get sick as a dog every time. Besides, you really need to have terrible taste and smell if you think a bit of spice can hide the vrot smell on a cut of meat. Any meat.
