On 24 January 2015 my telephone line went dead and consequently my Internet connection. I then logged a fault with Telkom. It's been over a week now and nothing has happened, the call center agents just tell me that it's a problem with the exchange and that they're escalating the fault.

I study through UNISA and the Internet is vital. I've tried twitter and hello petter because clearly calling them isn't changing anything and there was nothing there either. So I'm hoping I'll be able to get help here.

or stolen more likely. happened 2 or 3 times to me last year. outages lasted almost 2 weeks.

I presume your quote is aimed at the OP stating that he has no internet, but he is currently on the internet?

So a very sweet lady by the name of Noeleen called me this morning to let me know that Telkom has decided that they are not going to replace the cable because in my high risk area.

that's kark bru. sorry to hear that. everybody should have access to our dialup internets.
 
Obviously this is unacceptable so I will keep bugging them until they change their tune. Hopefully I'm not the only one in my area (who's been affected by this) who's willing to go the extra mile to ensure that Telkom delivers.
