Hey guys.

So i got a new Kia Cerato 2 weeks ago and am LOVING the car.
Just one small pet peeve is that the radio does not pick up RDS. So i decided to do a little investigating.
It appears that if you turn the radio off and hold in 1 and 6 you will get the version number of the radio and then you should be able to change some location settings from there. My prob is that i can get to the version settings but nothing further.
any suggestions?

Thanks

Good luck. The RDS software was not loaded on our models for some reason. This trick works fine on the similar radios in the Hyundai I20's etc, but not on the Cerato. It's quite frustrating, if one is accustomed to having RDS

Is RDS the thingy that makes it display the station name like "5FM" or "KFM" or whatever?
Silly that its not loaded in this day and age. But why do u care? U know what station you tuned to, i would probably not even notice it

Comes in handy when some stations use RDS to show the name of the current song ;)

If you drive around and go a bit beyond the transmitting frequency for that area, your reception becomes all crackly. RDS ensures that you're tuned in to whatever station, regardless of what the frequency in the area is.
