Kia Sportage 2011 Model

And? Did Kia SA assist at all?

KIA SA got in contact with the dealership. They got the ball rolling, but the Pinetown dealership is such a flipping joke, plain ridiculous. This is the rundown of events:

I get a call finally from the branch and they ask me to bring the car in again to take more pictures... Even though they had taken some before and had my pictures.
Pictures taken... Again, details taken again... Warranty claim submitted. A week later, only the headlight claim approved... Had to wait another 2 weeks for the rest to be approved. Finally I get told the parts are now on order and will take 21 days to arrive... Warranty case numbers are sent to me... And I wait. 3 weeks ago I get called to bring the car in, the headlight had arrived. I decline saying they can call me once off when all the parts arrive.
Two weeks ago I get the call... All parts are there... Book car in. Take the car in... My name is in the service log register, no paperwork to be found.... Print new paper work. Leave the car and go home...
16:30... Phone call... "Sir this is going to have to be a warranty claim, there is a whole lot of paper work to fill in and the parts may be ordered" I swore very politely... They listened but could not wrap their brains around the fact that I never phoned to book the car in, they phoned me to do the warranty repairs already approved with parts in stock at the branch.
Lots of uhms and oohs later they ask I leave the car over night and it will be sorted first thing in the morning. Said fine...
10AM the next morning, the new service manager by the name of Patrick phones me. He seems to grasp the whole debacle and apologised for the pathetic service. Promises to sort out out by the end of the day.
16:00, Another call... Headlight done, but they had ordered the top two tail lights, not the bottom two?? I'm at a loss for words... They had pictures of what to order? What the hell?
But I can come collect the car, they need to now order the correct tail lights... My response, stuff that, I'm in bed... Bring it to me. I'm over it...

17:30, car arrives, I direct them to park it in the garage.... Still waiting for the tail lights...

Oh, and yesterday oddly enough I get a call from KIA customer service review, they want me to score their performance... lol on a range of 1 to 10, I said zero.

Have two 2011 Kia Sportage models, both with the exact same "break" lights peeling issue, not really bothered, will sell them both next year anyways.

Dude, I'm with you there. I can share my experiences with them if you like (it's rather long, cause I typed it all out and moaned until kingdom come with their customer support desk).

In short, go to the Umhlanga branch.

Pinetown is bloody useless. From the staff on the floor right up to the dealer principle.

yeah... also rather pissed at pinetown.. serviced my car there in feb.. lodged a warranty claim for the radio system because my bluetooth has never worked from the start (cant play music via bluetooth).. heard nothing... followed up in May, they said they cant find any record of a claim lodged... Tried to call them twice after that and same story..

going to try to get hold of them again now and see what happens...

When I was dealing with them, they decided to claim something from the warranty. Told me they'd contact me once it's approved AND they'd received the part from JHB.

A month and a half later, and between 5 and 10 calls later (probably around 5 transfers each time I called), I gave up and drove to the dealer to find out what's happening. The lady who told me that they're claiming from the warranty and that she'd contact me typed a few things on her PC, then looked at me and said "We have you on the system as a no-show on [whatever date]".

WTF's per minute increased.

Lets just say, after that, I insist on some form of paperwork confirming what they tell me verbally.

I'm quite upset with Pinetown. They needlessly removed my dashboard and never put it back properly. It really sounds like a lot of things are loose inside.

Save yourselves and avoid that dealership.

They have had 3 service managers in the last 12 months. The last one was a royal "beach", she tried to blame everything wrong with my car on me. Getting her to actually get off her chair to go look at the faulty plastics was like such a huge effort, and the looks she shot me were priceless... what a cow. The current service manager was recalled (he used to work there in 2008) to try and sort the place out. The Dealer Principle wasnt much help either. The Warranties department or clerk or whatever they call her was on maternity leave it appears at the beginning of the year. Nobody know what's happening in the warranty department... its a circus. I give KIA Pinetown a zero rating and will never again buy a KIA thanks to them. Oh and when I was there I noticed that the paint jobs are getting really bad on the new KIA's, specifically look at how thin and rough the paintwork is in the door recesses and pillars.

Korean cars are cheap in the long run. The materials they use are just not up to par when it comes to wear and tear.
