Saw this thread but the one I am looking at is the current model - not the one being launched this weekend.

I have the 2010 2L Auto 4x2 which I bought new and have close to 120000km on the clock. Have kept a fuel usage record since day 1.
My average consumption over the entire period is 8,97km/l. Mostly city driving, heavy traffic, (85%)
On the open road towing a trailer loaded with Mountain bikes, get about 8,5km/l. Not the lightest on gas, but a very reliable and comfortable vehicle!!! Only repairs other than routine maintenance in the ten years I have had the car was the Aircon compressor that packed up. Cost about R6k to replace.

The run out model...indeed it's a good car. Good reason why there is so so many on the road.

I would personally go for a low mileage 1/2 yr old model in top spec & save a fair bit more.

Your deal sounds fairly attractive as well.

Had no problems on the dealer side, here in CT but service can vary from dealer to dealer. My maintenance plan is long expired, do my own servicing.
But seeing what services cost these days I would go with a maintenance plan. (See link below)

Which I still prefer to the new shape, plus they did away with the separate opening window in the rear hatch which comes in handy if you have a trailer hitched on or bikes on a trailer hitch rack.
