Hi

Anyone here drive's the Kia Sportage 2.0 Auto ?
What is the fuel consumption like on the vehicle ?

I'm thinking of buying one, but I can't make up my mind :confused:

Yes/ No, should I go for it ?
Pro's / Con's ?
 
If I was looking at an SUV I'd look at going diesel.
The Sportage 2.0 CRDI Auto is not that bad on fuel.
Claimed figure is 7.5L/100km with reviewers saying about 8.5L/100km which is not shabby for a 1.7 ton vehicle that can do 0-100km/h in 9.6 seconds.
 
Assuming we talking about the new shape.

The diesel is a better drive and is more economical but its over R20k more and chances are it will require a lot more maintenance compared to the petrol so yeah.. 50/50.

Are you looking at 4x2 or 4x4? If you are looking for a 4x4 to go bundu bashing rather look else where as its more of a softroader.

Other than that its a superb vehicle, very good looking inside and out and reliable.

I have a 2011 model, 4x2, 2.0 petrol. Open road I get (according to the little trip computer) 8.5l/100km without aircon and 9l/100km with aircon. City driving jumps to between 12 and 14l/100km.
 
I have the 4x4 2.0L diesel Auto, averages about 8.2l/100km (with aircon, roofrack and 2 Thule bike racks on ALL the time)

Has done 64000km in the last 2 years. 100,000km service plan 200,000km maintenance plan beside 2 new tyres that's all it has cost me.
 
I own the 2.0 CRDI Auto Sportage (nearly 3 years now)

City driving I get around 8.5-10L/100
Long distance; around 7L/100 and that's with 2 adults, 2 kids and relevant luggage.

I'm very happy with the car; I have no complaints.
 
Hi. In the market for a SUV.

The new KIA SHORTAGE is being launched this weekend and will be going for R590k apparently.

The dealer had a new current model (not the one being launched) and is offering me a R60k discount on the retail value of R503k and giving me book on my BMW.

Is this a big enough discount given that the new model launches, albeit at at a much higher price point? Will the value drop even more after the new one is launched?

It is fully specced and I really like the drive.

To add... When I took it for a test drive, it already had 75km on the clock. Does this still make it new or a demo?

Same here - we've had no issues from it in the 3 years that we've had it. Consumption is about the same, and we're on about 75k from a mileage perspective now. Plastics in the car are a bit harder than one would find in a German spec vehicle, but all hangs together well, handles dirt roads well, and generally just does not give ***t.

Sheesh this was R330k in 2014 that's quite a jump
 
I have the 2010 2L Auto 4x2 which I bought new and have close to 120000km on the clock. Have kept a fuel usage record since day 1.
My average consumption over the entire period is 8,97km/l. Mostly city driving, heavy traffic, (85%)
On the open road towing a trailer loaded with Mountain bikes, get about 8,5km/l. Not the lightest on gas, but a very reliable and comfortable vehicle!!! Only repairs other than routine maintenance in the ten years I have had the car was the Aircon compressor that packed up. Cost about R6k to replace.
