I installed Personal Backup 4 on the mac but removed it again. Only problem is it installs a quick launch icon in the menu bar at the top of the screen. Killing it in activity monitor works until the next boot when it is loaded again.

How can I kill this start up program?

Most start up items are found in the system prefs>Accounts>Login Items

Lemme know if its not there.

Never mind... I found it in /root/library and trashed it - working fine now.

Spotlight to the rescue?

cheers for this info.... had a look and man I have learnt something today.
I put all the things I want to start up automatically in there :) I have my mail running off an encrypted disk image incase my laptop ever goes on a walk about. Having a disk image also makes for an easy backup :)
