By the way - the Kindle 2 also now supports native PDF files. Due to the larger screen on the DX I think it's more aimed at ppl who'll be viewing documents with images/diagrams etc. Just my 2c

I am in a bit of a quandary, I like the convenient size of the K2 for travel & reading, but I think that the DX would be very nice for camera manuals, computer manuals, etc. The DX is also a bit expensive !

What to do ?

Ha ha - tough decision. I like the screen on the DX too but because I mainly read novels (like 98% of the time) I opted for the Kindle II - loving it though

Local online shop Wantitall reveals their local price of the international version of the Kindle DX

Why would anyone still buy through Wantitall when Amazon will add in import duties etc, and still be cheaper than going through Wantitall?

If the the DX says "US ONLY" surely Amazon wont let you connect to whispernet using roaming on it?

Just a thought, did WantItall check that after laying out that money a persons DX can register to a ZA account. OR if they go the whole proxy+US address route that it will be allowed to "roam" in ZA?

Amazon has changed their policy, from 18 Jan the DX is available for International Sales. So whispernet will work in SA.

I pre-ordered one from Amazon directly this morning.

Hmmm, I'm contemplating DX's for my company rather than having everyone print tons of useless documents....

Must do the sums to see how long (if ever) the concept would take to break even.
